Hey there…I’m Brenda.
Welcome to the Trauma Recovery and Treatment Center. My purpose is to help survivors of trauma recognize their worth and realize their full potential through trauma-informed care and the hope of the gospel. I believe in the power of healing and change…and want to partner with you as you take steps to freedom!
Trauma leaves a mark on your mind, body, and soul. It can leave you frozen, affecting your relationships, taking away your sense of security, and causing you to lose hope. It could even lead to the use of drugs and alcohol to cope with the emotional pain and traumatic memories. But healing is possible...and you can have the life filled with peace and joy that you've always wanted.
Using a holistic approach that blends various modalities such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psychodynamic theories, and spiritual practices, we will work together to build self-awareness, recognize unhealthy patterns that do not serve you well, and create new patterns that promote healing and wellness.

Testimonials
“Brenda is this grand mix of empathy and life wisdom that activates relationships. I’ve witness her doing this with ease with lots of folks. But more importantly (and uniquely), she connects with those that haven’t seen ‘the best’ in their relationships. And in so doing, she helps people restore hope and trust in virtuous relationships.”
“Having Ms. Brenda as a counselor has been an answered prayer of mine that I have been longing for. I met her at my time at the Genesis Center (A Refuge for Women and Children in Crisis), where she came and shared her testimony. I had not gotten to meet her personally yet, but I knew deep down, that she was the one that was going to help me with the trauma and guilt that I have been dealing with for over a decade. I immediately felt safe and no judgment with her. I knew she was there to help. During my time with her, she taught me so many coping mechanisms that I still use till this very day. Her advice and counseling has truly helped me from depression, stress, anxiety, self-esteem, anger, relationships, grief and much more. I came into counseling embarrassed and ashamed. I left with strength and the ability to move forward in life. Even though tears were shed at every session, she has left such an impact and gave me lifelong tools to get through tough times from here on out. I honestly can not thank her enough.”
“It is my pleasure to endorse the Heart of a Champion via Brenda. I have known Brenda since her teenage years and have seen her dedication to others. She has continued to serve her family & community and develop her gifts for art, teaching, counseling, and women’s rights. I am so very proud of Brenda and love her heart to help others. Brenda connects with folks in a great way! She has something to say and we should all listen then act on her instruction. She is helping change lives for the better!”
“I had a substance abuse problem. I had been sexually abused and had a huge rage problem that consumed my life. I never saw a way out. But when I met Ms. Brenda and we sat down for the first time, I saw somebody that would truly try to understand me and wouldn’t stop until I found peace for my life. Every time the day came for us to meet together, I woke up excited because I knew I would learn another technique. If one thing didn’t work, she always would encourage me and find another one. I cannot explain how much she impacted my life for the better. And thanks to the Lord and Ms. Brenda, I have finally found my peace using the skills she taught me and can happily say that I’ve been sober for almost two years. I have passed a lot of the calming techniques to my 7-year-old son as well. Most of all, she has taught me I am worthy of a better life than I ever thought”
“Brenda is a woman with true Godly character and has a heart for saving the lost. She is a tremendous blessing to the body of Christ, and brings healing to broken souls”
